CFAA Registered Fire Alarm Technician
DOUGLAS FIRE SAFETY SYSTEMS has been serving Ottawa and the Eastern Ontario Region for over 50 years and is an AUTHORIZED DISTRIBUTOR of Canadian-Made MIRCOM products. We feel privileged to have become the preferred fire alarm and life safety service provider to some of the largest property management organizations in Ottawa and are proud to have earned the reputation of providing honest and reliable service to our customers.
We are currently seeking a CFAA Registered Fire Alarm Technician, with extensive experience in the installation and servicing of fire alarm and life safety systems, to join our growing team of fire alarm professionals.
Responsibilities:

Conduct monthly, bi-monthly, quarterly, semi-annual and annual inspections, repairs and verifications of fire alarm and other related life safety systems and equipment

Conduct service calls
-
Participate in a rotational after-hours and weekend On-Call schedule

Submit complete, detailed reports and work orders in a timely manner
Qualifications:
-
CFAA Certification with a minimum of 3 years of industry-related experience preferred

Valid Driver License with clean driver’s abstract

Strong working knowledge of fire alarm and life safety equipment and systems, including sprinklers, emergency lighting, kitchen systems, portable fire extinguishers and hoses

Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy regarding reports and work orders

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Excellent troubleshooting skills

Excellent customer service skills

Self-motivated and able to work both independently and with others

Dependable with strong work ethic
